Enrique Ruiz de Lera, appointed director of Spanish National Tourist Office in London

Enrique Ruiz de Lera, deputy director general of Spain Promotion and Marketing Tourism, will replace Ignacio Vasallo as director of the Spanish Tourist Office in London, while Monica Sanchez Gonzalez, who was the head coach of the cabinet Joan Mesquida, has been appointed the director of the same office in Miami.

The new directors shall hold office from the 1st of November. Enrique Ruiz de Lera will assume the most important Spanish Tourist Office.

Enrique Ruiz de Lera has a law degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), where he was a classmate of Prince Philip of Spain. It was the number 3 in their opposition as Administrator of the State Civil 1997. In March 1998 he joined as chief Turespaña service outbound tourism market and competitors.

Enrique Ruiz de Lera carrer’s continued in1999 in Germany in the post of Deputy Councillor of Tourism of the Embassy of Spain in Germany and deputy director of the Spanish Tourist Office in Berlin, where he spent three years.

From September 2001 to August 2005 held the same position in Brazil, until he moved to Singapore as director of the Spanish Tourist Office in Southeast Asia, where until March 2009 he combined the post with that of Councillor of Tourism in Spain's embassies Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Philippines, India and New Zealand.

Monica Sanchez Gonzalez is graduated in Law from the University of Cantabria and a diploma in European Union law from the University of Deusto. Also, she holds master's degree in Tourism Administration from George Washington University (USA).
 

Ignacio Vasallo, which since 2004 has been the director of the OTS in London, will assume the same position in Paris in the coming weeks.
